Department Of English
The Predominant objective of the Department of English is to impart quality education, enhance the communication skills of students and thereby improving their chances of placement opportunities. The students are trained to develop their Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing Skills and to excel in their communicative abilities which would open the gateway of opportunities. Immense care is taken to focus on students from schools with regional medium of instruction and to help them become conversant in English. Strenuous efforts are being put in consistently to improve the teaching learning process. A modern language laboratory has been installed with all necessary software to help students hone their communicative skills.

The Predominant vision is to take Immense care to focus on students from schools with a regional medium of instruction to help them become conversant in English. Strenuous efforts are being put in consistently to improve the teaching learning process.
An exclusive language laboratory is utilised to enhance their communication skills to to help students hone their communicative skills. Activities, workshops and various sessions are channelised to provide a platform for students to fine tune their skills and alter their complexities in using the language.
Objectives of English Department
- To help students enhance their Communication Skills by means of interactive workshop and productive activities along with the customary teaching learning process.
- To secure an overall result of 90% in the End Semester examination.
Professor & Head
Since the inception of the College, in the year 1999, the Department of English has been effectively functioning. The Department stands focused to its Ideals in imparting knowledge and preparing the students towards achieving academic excellence through the acquisition of core competence in language skills in relation to its applications & relevance for engineering professionals, and also in giving students practice for developing the four basic skills: Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing. The course curriculum is periodically upgraded to suit to the requirements of different engineering disciplines as per the Anna University.

Communication Skills Laboratory – Project Based
- Equip students with English language skills required for the successful undertaking of academic studies with primary emphasis on academic speaking and listening skills.
- Provide guidance and practice in basic general and classroom conservation and to engage in specific academic speaking activities and make effective presentations.
- Improve general and academic listening skills and technical writing skills.
- Strengthen the reading skills of students of engineering.

Most of the books deal with different types of innovative exercises on varied topics .The department library enables staff members to frame question papers and prepare worksheets.
